Samsung bundles two 3D glasses; additional set $50

 

  

 

Samsung will be bundling a pair of 3D glasses with every 3D ready television. Beginning May 1st the SSG-3100GB will be available for $50 each. All D7000 series LED LCD sets will continue to receive the bundle kit.

THE DAWN OF 3D BLU RAY AND 3D TELEVISION: PART 1

The history of 3D dates back to the 1890’s. 3D stands for “three dimensional”. The concept was derived from stereoscopic photography. Some of you may remember high school geography class looking at “stereoscopic” topographic maps in the 3D domain.This technology worked its way into Hollywood and 3D cinema was born in the 1950’s. It was very popular during its time using a arch-type 3-D glass. Two light filters were used. One eye would see through the red filter and the other through the blue filter.

Vizio Debuts 65" 3D LED LCD

It is interesting how 65" LED LCD sets were a mere $6000 + retail last month and now we have a new model from Vizio with a MSRP of $3,499. The television will include four 3D glasses. This new model is 50% brighter over previous models due to its 3D technology. The television features 120Hz refresh rate with internet web app access. The Vizio press release is below.
