Epson is a company at the forefront in projector technology. The new 6010 3-chip LCD  projector is a stunning addition to the 2012 lineup. This 3 chip LCD projector is 3D ready with several new technological advancements to assist 3D movies. The majority of projectors for home cinema use have between 800-1300 lumens of light output. The Epson 6010 has a whopping 2400 lumens. This provides a dynamic contrast ratio up to 200,000:1.

JVC DLA-X90 Review

  

JVC's new projector the DLA-X90 is a superb unit at the $11,999.95 MSRP price point. Out of the box the image is bright and clear. The black levels are very good. With a D-ILA projector it is difficult to see the pixel structure. Most of the cheaper 3 chip LCD units on the market the viewer can resolve the pixel structure easily.

Growing up I remember going to the local family video store to rent video tapes. Then it evolved to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video chain stores. Every Tuesday we would get into the family station wagon and drive over to the local video store to rent the latest hollywood blockbuster. Early in the 21st century that all changed with Netflix. A revolutionary new company that shipped DVD's in the mail. You watch the movie and then return it in a postage prepaid envelope.

The LCOS( Liquid Crystal On Silicon) technology this projector features resolving the pixel width structure is difficult.

LG 55" OLED TV 

 

 

 

LG announced that they will show the world's largest OLED television at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas. A 55" OLED panel will be on display for all to see. This new technology will provide uniform color and the highest true contrast ratio over any LED LCD set on the market today. First to market was Sony with a small 7.4" up to a 24" set.

Sony to sell LCD joint venture to Samsung for $940 million

Samsung is the global leader in LCD panel manufacturing. Sony has decided to sell it's joint venture stake to Samsung for $940 million. Sony has lost billions of dollars in manufacturing TV sets for the past four years. They have decided to shed the manufacturing business.
